I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have survived Black Friday’s madness! If you were like me you stayed home and didn’t venture near the crowds. Sometimes I think I am a hermit, sitting in my chair watching out the window. Now Cyber Monday, that is my kind of sale, I won’t say no to that! I am glad that some marketing genius invented it. But it still does not disuade me from my hermit theory , especially since I don’t have to see people.
Now I did get some stitching in. It was the first time I have picked up my needle and thread in quite a while, and it really was soothing. I just love to stitch, and not stitching makes me ver antsy, wanting to buy more stitchy items, not a good thing! Here are my bats, I placed them in area 6 of the hat,
Bats flying incognito
Since I had decided to sway from the ANG track and put in my own choice of stitches, I also added my favorite Halloween color to the mix as well, Chartreuse Green. The bats are magical bats, flying squadron style and the second squadron are cloaked. Remember Harry Potter’s Cloaking device, well these bats have a built in cloaking device similar to Star Trek ships. They can swoop down and catch a mouse without even being seen, how cool! The chart for the Bats is under the Witch Hat tab already, colors used are Silk Lamé SL133 1 strand and Silk ‘N Colors Goober Green #321 4 ply.
I tend to be a procrastinator and work best under pressure. Therefore with the end of the year quickly approaching, I am now starting to feel the need to rapidly stitch. This project is coming to a close, and I have to complete it since our local chapter would like me to teach it. They need to see the finished project and of course a price list of my threads. That would be easy if I had used all the threads, yes, this means I need to be speedy gonzales on this as well as a couple of other projects Typical, this is why UPS likes me! I send projects next day or 2nd day air. How many of you are procrastinators?
Another important deadline is November 30th. This is the final day to vote for the Spring / Summer 2013 Stitcherie Challenge. Don’t let the name scare you away, the Flying Beasties are a number of different canvases. Inserted below is the list of all the canvases that you can choose from,
The challenges are fun and this one will run from April 1st to July 31st 2013. It will be longer, an extra month will help to finish, though some people will finish ahead of time I am sure. Remember Sammy, Judy Gartman went full force and had this done in March,

Palma’s Sammy Finished
Now doesn’t this look like fun. Come on over to Stitcherie and vote for your favorite canvas or series and you can start stitching with the group April 1st 2013!
On my final note Ohio has some of the finest pastries around, here is a Thanksgiving Desert I had never seen before,
My Kind of Thanksgiving Dinner!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends around the world, even the virtual friends, who are some of the best…….
