I hope everyone is having a lovely week! I want to wish my friend Lynda a very Happy Birthday today😀
My last few posts have been about stitches for feathers, so here is one more to add to your repertoire. What you may not realize is that many of the feather stitches work well for fish or reptiles as well. Use a blend of metallic threads instead of fuzzy for fish scales! Just a thought for you!
Today’s stitch is a Barred Beetle variation called Golden Beetle.
Don’t you agree that this is a great Scale and Feather stitch? The sample is stitched with 3 ply of Silk ‘N Colors and one strand of Bijoux.
Here is another chart of Barred Beetle Variations that I diagrammed last year. The top Ray stitch is slightly different in this version.
Now I have to tell you about a Birdie club I saw advertised in the new Needlepoint Now magazine, Scandia Birds by EyeCandy! Wouldn’t it be fun to stitch your own flock of birds and learn a few new feather stitches! It would be really neat to hang all your birds in a lovely bird-cage!
This is an exclusive club to Bedecked & Beadazzled, so fly on over to their website and check it out or call 410-296-0405.
You still have time to sign up for this fun club starting in September 2016!
Beardie has been making new friends, Raccoons! Beardie watched as a baby Raccoon passed through the back yard last week, now I will have to keep my eye out for critters! Not to worry I believe it was just passing through.
Have a great rest of the week and put a few stitches in for me!
