A new year and my first finish. I always see people posting that they have accomplished their first Finish. My finishes generally take longer because I tend to stitch larger canvases. This year however, I found a canvas that I had just part of the background stitched. Yes, it is now completely finished 🙂 I used one of the Candy Cane Brads that I gave out during the holidays. Here is the ornament in all of its glory.
I would have liked a size 5 or 6 mm Swarovski bicone crystal, but I made do with three 3mm’s instead. I love crystals for their sparkle. The next time you see this ornament will be after Ruth does her magic. It will be flying off later this week.
I can honestly say, my stash does not contain very many ornaments. I hardly every stitch them and I tend to be attracted to gargantuan pieces. Maybe I should resolve to stitch some ornaments I would definitely have more finishes in a year! How many of you have finished a piece now?
Now a little bit of news. Over at Stitcherie K.B. Hallman has dreamed up the new challenge for the Flying Beasties. This is the canvas that we will be working with is the Camouflage Birds by Zecca. This is a fabulous canvas, I love the bright colors and all the different patterns, just think what we can do with it!
Details are still being worked on. The Challenge will run from March 1st – August 31st 2013. This challenge will provide more instruction from me with stitches, and thread choices from Ruth Schmuff. I will be stitching with you and showing you my areas at the set time frames like you will.
All the details will be coming soon, so stay tuned, this is a Challenge you will want to participate in. If you have ever thought of starting to play with new stitches join the Camouflage party and we will lead you down the path. From there needlepoint will never be the same for you. You will look at canvases in a different light. Ok, this is my dream, so don’t blow my bubble!
That’s all for now folks, a new stitch will be coming in the next day or so, until then keep on stitching!
