I hope you are having a great Friday! Here in Cleveland we are having lovely Fall like weather with the trees just starting to show us some color. Also, the Cleveland Indians are in the playoffs, woo hoo!!
Today we have a stitch and the newest Magnet from the Magnet Maven Club at Bedecked & Beadazzled.
I am posting the Plaited Stitch Gone Wrong. This stitch is worked in vertical rows and to me it is an elegant crossed stitch. I am contemplating using this stitch for the Key portion of my Brenda Stofft Skeleton Key canvas, see last weeks post for the photo.
In the diagram the lighter and darker grey stitches show how the crossed portion of the stitch changes. The stitched sample shows that you can make this a lovely border style stitch over two threads by using cross stitches, those are charted in orange. This stitch can be as heavy or light as you want. Since I see this as an old fashioned fancy key I stitched the sample using Kreinik Fine (#8) Braid.
Change the width of the stitch by adding more of the plaited rows then fill in the end with your cross stitch. It really is a very versatile stitch, I can see this for fabric of all sorts, give it a whirl and see what you come up with.
Now last week I did call and tell Ruth I was having a not so great week and wanted my Magnet Maven sent out. Here is what I got
How perfect is this magnet for Eleanor Grosch’s “Deco Detective“! The Ace sleuth in action!
If you want this month’s magnet I have been told that it is almost sold out, so don’t wait too long to call or email Bedecked & Beadazzled!
I am hoping this next week is awesome for everyone and that I may actually be able to stitch!
The “Tigers” have been enjoying watching their Birdie TV set up, here are the girls ogling the birds through the window!
I have become the crazy cat lady personified!
Have a great week and do what you love!
