I hope you all had a great New Year’s eve, and didn’t make any resolutions to decrease stash. You know that never really works, so why make yourself feel guilty
With the New Year comes a stitch for you that you can use in many different ways. Look at the patterns on your canvas and see what shapes come forward.
I have been working on the Zecca snowman in the current mystery class. Ruth found one of Brenda Hart’s stitch’s that works perfectly. She brought the pattern of the trees into the Hat. A triangle shape, which was so very clever. I was stitching away and bam, it hit me in the face, as the trees jumped out. It really did make me smile. Check out the snowman hat below.
Is that not a cool stitch that plays off of the trees? Ruth really does amazing things with these Mystery Classes, you won’t want to miss out on the next class the Bastet Cat Godess designed by Tapestry Fair. I love Tapestry Fair’s canvases and can hardly wait to stitch this next mystery!
Yes I am actually stitching the mysteries this year. I started the snowman, and am keeping up. So I am rather proud of myself for a change.
Here is the Stitch of the Day:
When I was thinking of this stitch, I had been thinking about snow, using different colors of white with white beads. The beads would make it look like the snow drifts. But when I stitched a portion it looked like mountains. You could place light stitches in the middle. Turn 90 degrees and it could be a stream. Therefore I can imagine this stitch in many different ways. I can also see it as wavy hair. Use different shades and it would be great. Below is a doodle canvas showing the stitch as I stitched it.
My wish to everyone is for a happy healthy 2013, with plenty of stitching time 🙂
Here is a cute pic of Stimpy taunting Nixie, before we had Snow.
That’s all for now folks,
