Another Halloween gone and I have to start the countdown until next year This is my favorite holiday of the year. Maybe we could add a second Halloween in April. There is Christmas in summer so why not Halloween in spring!
Today I found a special package on the front step, it was my “Indians” baseball. I have to say it is fabulous, Angela Shaddon the owner of “Little Shop Around the Corner” did a spectacular job. It is perfect! Check her out on Facebook, some of the items she has finished are featured. Your LNS can always send your project to be finished by her.
I know I have it placed on spider legs and I think it looks just adorable, semi Halloween.
Today I thought I would be a cookie chef. Not for a moment did I think that the beautifully decorated Cookies I have seen on different blogs would be so challenging. Well, three batches of icing later I ended up with these.
I wish they were mine, but sadly these are my fabulously decorated cookies,
I did do my homework and checked out several tutorials. They made it sound so easy. I made the Royal Icing, but when it came to icing the cookies, that was a different story. Before going forward I tasted the icing and thought, yuck! It was awful. Next I tried to make black buttercream frosting, it ended up tasting like the food coloring. I refused to give up, I had all these sugar cookies in need of frosting. Thanks to Cooking Classy I found a very tasty frosting, Honey Cream, and I slathered it on after coloring it of course. As you can see my cookies look just like the ones children make. I have a “newfound” respect for anyone who can decorate a cookie like the ones pictured above!
From now on I am sticking to stitching, it is sooo much easier and more relaxing than trying to decorate cookies.
Have a great day and keep on stitching.
