Can you believe there are only 20 days until Christmas and 19 days until the start of Hanukkah! Where has this year gone!! It seems the older I get the faster time passes!
Today’s stitch is the Henderson Stitch! You may remember that I posted several Henderson Variations in November, well thanks to Jane of Chilly Hollow’s Needlepoint Adventure I have diagrammed the actual stitch, woo hoo!! I said I was curious about it, now I see how the variations came into being! Love it when something I am looking for is found!
The sample was stitched using one strand of Shaded Petite Very Velvet and one strand of Silk Lamé for 18ct. In the sample I alternated the bottom three rows just to see how it would look. This is a nice full coverage stitch using the threads I chose. It would make a nice Santa Suit, or try using Rainbow linen for Santa’s sack. The magnet gives you an idea of the size of the stitch, not very large, so it would be great in small areas. Enjoy this stitch! I would love to see how you use it on your painted canvas
Below is the Henderson Variation turned on its side, see the similarities……this has a nice wave feeling.
I know many of you live in the North and love birds as much as me, so here is a Northern Cardinal coloring page. Print it off and have fun with your colored pencils! This will give you a little stress relief from all the holiday shopping!
No post would be complete without seeing my “Tiger” crew, they are trying to behave themselves, but do find it challenging! Noe has been jumping from the middle of the second floor stairs right by poor Tango, no wonder he has a tendency to throw up! This week he got back at her by throwing up his breakfast on the base of her favorite Cat Tree! Yes, it was a mess to clean up!
Well that’s all for today. Take a little time to put a few stitches in during this holiday season!
