Happy Friday! Did you all have fun looking at the new canvases from last weeks TNNA market? Today I am going to show a few canvases that I myself like. But first let me give you today’s stitch.
This stitch was not found in any book it is just something that I charted. It is a Diagonal Oblong Cross with Satin Stitches and Sequins.
First I stitched the Diagonal oblong cross with two ply of Baroque Silk. I thought this looked like fishnet stockings 😉 I then added satin stitches in one portion of my model using one strand of Petite Silk Lamé. Two 2mm sequins were added in the bottom portion of the model. I wanted to show you two different effects with the same base stitch. Looking at the stitch I can see scales for fish, mermaids or reptiles. It would also make a fun Santa bag by changing the fibers to Burmilana or Gloriana’s Lorikeet.
Turn the chart one quarter turn and the stitch changes direction.
This is the same stitch just a little larger.
Here are a few of the canvases I found on designer sites.
This is a great saying by Kimberly Smith 🙂
I am not sure if I just missed “Life Without Cats” from Ruth Schmuff at January’s Market, but I love it.
You have to go to Labors of Love’s website, the snowmen and mermaids are fun!
Again I have not seen these Zecca designs, so they are new to me.
Associated Talents always has fun designs, the mice are fantastic 🙂
Miami is my favorite Gold Digger from Leigh Designs. Houston has a stitch guide from Carolyn Taggart and Miami will have a stitch guide from Jane Wood (Chilly Hollow Needlepoint Adventure)!
This canvas from Maggie would be fun to stitch for Fourth of July.
You can always go to your favorite designers website to view their new designs.
Yesterday was “National Hug Your Cat Day” so I have to show a couple of cat photos 🙂
Tango never likes to make eye contact with the camera, one day he will get used to it!
That’s all for today folks, have a great stitchy weekend!
