I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. I was the Crazy Cat Lady this year since I appear to attract all the strays.
Today is Dia de los Muertos and I am remembering both Nixie and Angus, all the great times we had together, they were pure joy 🙂 Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that celebrates family members who have died. You will see the dead honored using sugar skulls, marigolds, and some people build altars. This is a Pet alter that I saw while visiting Las Cruces n 2010 for the celebration.
I know I have posted a Paws darning pattern before, but these guys left footprints all over my heart, so here is the chart again.
Next I have a new chart for you, Octoborama. I saw the Charley Harper poster “Octoberama” and thought it would make a great pattern, so I give you my adaptation.
It is an interesting pattern and you could use it for feathers, leaves, background. Change the threads and you will change how it looks. I used Burmilana & Petite Silk Lamé in these samples. I am working on another take of this pattern where it all fits together, a leaf stitch variation.
As soon as I have finished charting this I will post it for everyone.
This is another photo I took in Las Cruces on Day of the Dead, Katy is fun!
Finally I have to share the collages I made for Nixie & Angus, I hope you don’t mind, this is my Memorial for them.
Have a great week everyone and enjoy the Fall weather wherever you are!
