I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Spring was here last week but since it’s Opening day for the Cleveland Indians, Winter has returned with some blowing snow! Can you tell I am an Indians fan 🙂 Luckily for me I will be watching the game from home today, hoping that the weather warms up by Thursday since I am going to the game!
Today’s stitch is the “Chicken Scratch” stitch :). I tried to mimic the pattern from a chair I saw in a magazine. Not knowing what to call this stitch I asked a friend and “Chicken Scratch” was the first thing that popped into her mind :). Shoot me a comment and tell me what name pops into your head!
I love the geometric pattern, it would be a great as a background, grassy field, dirt under a rooster or grass hut. In the sample I stitched the black using 2 ply of Capri 18. Capri 18 can be plied into 4 and is a nice matte thread. The green is stitched with 1 strand of Pepper Pot silk for the reverse L stitch then 2 ply of Thread Worx for the crossed reverse L stitch. You could easily add sequins or beads to the stitch for a completely different look :). I would love to see how you use the stitch in your project!
I know many of you have cats, I would love to know how you get them into their crate for the scary vet visit! Last week I tried to pick Noe up and place her into her crate, not a brilliant move, she jumped out of the crate scratching me in multiple places on her way out! Since she is healthy the vet visit has been postponed until I work up the courage to try again! I will listen to all suggestions in ways to tame this wild thing 🙂
Well that’s all for today folks! Have a wonderful Stitchy week 🙂
