Aloha All, Finally I have the last portion of the Band Sampler – Band 1 for you. Several stitches were tried and I ended up with my original idea which was simpler. I think at times we overlook simplicity in our designs/stitching. It is ok to not put multiple different stitches into one painted canvas or counted canvas. At times the simplest solution is the best one, not always, but I would say the majority of the time. First is a photo, I did not include the motif on the far left because I did remove it and have not yet stitched it again.
Now to showcase some beautiful stitching. Cheryl Timko allowed me to take photos of her completed Sailboat canvas by Sharon G. This was a class she took last summer at Peacock Alley Needlepoint store with Robin King. I must say the piece stitched up magnificently, and of course Cheryl did change a few things, but who doesn’t!
I love how it looks completed. The sand is just fabulous, and the border really accentuates the piece. Next up we have Judy Wald McConnell’s Menorah. It is stunning. She has changed one area since this photo. Let me know what you think. The final version is at the end
If you had seen the original piece you would be blown away by how elegant it is now! Truly unbelievable.
Finally I have to let you know about a new class being held long distance by Meredith Willet of M’s Canvashouse. It is a “Magic Hat Class”, with the class from Share One’s Ideas, the canvas is really fun with a black kitten coming out of one of the hats, adorable. The Menorah with changes,
That’s all for now folks, have a Stitchy Monday!
