I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. This was the best Thanksgiving I had 🙂 We were in Cape May and then headed to Baltimore for a wonderful class at Bedecked & Beadazzled.
Grab a beverage and biscuit, this is a post with loads of pictures.
Sandra Arthur taught Wizard of Paws on Saturday and Sunday to a wonderful group. This was a full class and it was the first time Wizard of Paws was being taught, woo hoo, what a coo!
Needle felting was the principal technique that everyone wanted to learn. I have to say I really enjoyed needle felting,it will be and additional approach to stitching animals of all kinds.
This is a wad of roving on the canvas, small pieces of it will be pierced with a felting needle, although if you want a fuzzy cat go ahead and use the four prong felting tool and bang away You do have to be careful not to stick yourself and draw blood. A few of including myself broke a few needles this way.
Two replacement boxes used by moi, I was attacking my canvas a little too aggressively. Just imagine who you feel like pricking and you will bread a few needles as well.
Here are a few class photos.
Wendy showing off her stitching hands, I must say these are quite foxy and not pierced!
Here is my cat with the face felted.
Ruth is having a great time with her canvas, even if Sandra thinks she is heavy handed with her felting. Look out I can see her including this in a mystery class of two
Sandy is teaching this class at Serendipity Needleworks in February. Check out when and where classes are being taught on her website Duo Designs. You can also ask your local store to bring Sandy in to teach Wizard of Paws, just think of the fun you could have. Sandra Arthur has a wealth of needlepoint knowledge and a great sense of humor.
I want to show you a few of the canvases available in the store at the moment. It is so much fun to enable!
Look at the new fashionistas, they will be the next mystery with a twist in 2014.
This picture does not do justice to the framing of the last mystery with a twist. This would be a spectacular set to have on the wall.
Who doesn’t like a snap tray or two.
I just love the “Stitch” canvas, the colors are so vibrant.
Check out the actual ornaments that come with a few of these canvases, “Hot Cocoa & Santa”.
Zecca’s peacock can be ordered without the border, but I must say I do like it with the border.
Well folks that is it for today, I will check in later in the week with my stitch of the week. I know I did not post a stitch last week, but I had to get ready for my Thanksgiving trip to my favorite destination and home away from home, Bedecked & Beadazzled. Who knows maybe I will meet some of you at the next class at B & B, I will be heading there again in May of 2014!
These are my final pictures for you,
