What a busy couple of months! I am finally getting caught up after my trip to NYC, what a whirlwind. The city is fantastic, but you need more than 9 days to see it. I managed to see a number of the major landmarks in the city and took in “Kinky Boots” on Broadway, what a fantastic musical that was. Now you know I had to stop in at Annie & Co., a local needlepoint and knitting store in Manhattan, where the owner kindly let me take a few photographs which I am featuring today. Also, you may know one of the girls who works in the store, Brie, from her blog “A Little Slice of Brie“. Brie has been working on creating stitch guides for some of the Melissa Prince movie coasters, which I am sure will be available soon.
Before I take you on a tour of the store I have to show off my Leaping Dolphin stitch! Kimberly Smith one of Ruth Schmuff’s artists used my stitch for the sky of her fabulous “Dragon” canvas!! The stitch looks amazing! You should pop on over to her blog, Kimberly Design, and follow along since she is showing you firsthand how she is stitching this canvas. Kimberly has fun designs full of happy colors and she is also on the teaching circuit with a few of her designs.
Here it is, Leaping Dolphins – Pink Sky.
Next up is Jane’s Bat Eyelet stitch. Jane has kindly allowed me to bring this stitch to you. She created it for Leigh Designs “Purgatory Place”, a great stitch guide that is now available.
One of these days I will play with the stitch myself……too much going on the last few weeks for me to get to it.
Finally here is a tour of Annie & Co. 🙂
If you love to knit and needlepoint you have to stop by the store when in Manhattan.
Of course I have to show you one of my NYC photos and the newest addition to the Zoo!
I do believe the new family member is a boy so I have named him “Gandalf” after the Lord of the Rings wizard, Gandalf the Grey. A nice strong name!
Well folks, that is all for today! Have a great weekend and take some time to stitch or do something you love……..
