Aloha All,

It has been a while since I last posted, so today you will see two new stitches, fun finished items, and a new Mystery Class! That should keep you following along for a little bit. So grab your favorite beverage and have fun looking at the pictures!

Friends Finishes:

As many of you know my friend Cheryl Roler Timko is a fast stitcher. She stitches beautifully and finishes projects very quickly. I wish I could finish a few projects as quickly as Cheryl! 🙂 Here are a couple of recent finishes.

The Sew Much Fun Turkey is Cheryls latest finish. When it comes back from the finisher I will show it to you and you can see how it is made up into a Turkey

Next is my own finished canvas, Eyeore. Eyeore was in my stash for decades! I stitched it for my cousin and his new baby boy. Now I have to send it off to be finished into a box.

Stitches:

Todays stitches would both work well as backgrounds. They are both variations of a Double Stitch. Also included is a Smyrna Cross Stitch chart since you can use this instead of Squares in the Double Cross Stitch chart.

The first stitch was created and stitched by Maria. As you will see this stitch works well on Lunar New Year as the background stitch. Maria was very kind and is allowing me to show off her stitching for you to see how well the stitch worked.

The next stitch sample was stitched using 1 strand of Trebizond and 1 strand of Kreinik #8 Braid. It is easy to vary the chart and I stitched Smyrna Crosses to show how you can vary the chart yourself. Instead of a Smyrna Cross you could just add a Cross Stitch or a bead.

This next stitch sample was stitched using one strand of Straw Silk, one strand of Snow for the first squares and last row of cross stitches (row 5). I also used my favorite thread, Petite Silk Lame. The first, third, and fourth rows were stitched with one strand of Petite Silk Lame.

Mystery Classes:

I love Mystery Classes! Of course I have taken the last two classes. First was Fifi in Her Garden, posing so beautifully. Now the current mystery is the Flying Witch by David Galchutt.

Fifi in Her Garden by Johanna Virtanen is just fun to stitch. There are just enough beads and different stitches to make Fifi come to life.

Next is the Flying Witch mystery class by David Galchutt.

Is this not a fun canvas! I love Halloween so I had to take this class. Ruth even made a magnet that matches the witch’s pumpkin perfectly 🙂

The next class is a week away so I have time to get my homework stitched. As this progresses I will post more photos.

If you love this canvas you can join the Mystery Class party. Canvases have been ordered and will be back in stock at Bedecked & Beadazzled in October.

Well that is it for today folks. I hope you enjoyed all the fun pictures and of course stitches. I am back to blogging and will continue to post what I am doing along with fun stitches.

Sorry for the long delay since my last post.

As always if you have a stitch you would like showcased, send me an email.

Sheena 🙂
