Aloha All,
This past weekend the January market was held and I loved seeing the new canvases. I hope you did as well!😀
Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Unfortunately I have had a couple of hiccups due to my back surgery, I am healing slower than I would like. This means that charting stitches is challenging. The use of my arms directly impacts the area of my back that was operated on. So for now posting is going to be a little sporadic. Slowly I will get there, so please bear with me. Now onto the fun!😺
Before I show the canvases I found, I will give you today’s stitch, Hungarian Hearts. Since it is February I thought this would be a fun stitch. Thank you Jane Wood for stitching the sample, I so appreciate your work!
Jane stitched the sample using one strand of pale pink #8 Perle Cotton which looks white. On the right side of the sample the center of the stitch was stitched using one strand of red Neon Rays. This would make a very pretty background try different threads to get the effect you want. My friend Tess thought this would be a great roof stitch, she thought you could make the motifs closer by moving up and over one thread and use an overdid gray thread. Jane recommends tying off after each motif if you are stitching on a light canvas area, this stops the travel thread showing. I just thought it was a pretty stitch and could be used on many different canvases. Enjoy the stitch!
Next up is my monthly magnet, last months was my favorite so far! This owl magnet from the Magnet Mavens club is fabulous! 😸

Owl magnet from Bedecked & Beadazzled.
Now it is time to get a cup of your favorite drink for the canvas preview. Jane Wood of Chilly Hollow Needlepoint Adventure has posted a few of her favorite canvases, so be sure to go on over and check them out!😀
First up I love Tapestry Fair’s newest releases of their artist Manuel Salas, Bathing Beauties.😻
I also really liked Tapestry Fair’s artist Dominic Bourbeau Cat & Cocktails.
Melissa Shirley’s Scary Books are fabulous, everything except the rat speaks to me and my love of Halloween.
Next is a Kimberly Designs fabulous Dragon, he is a warrior, distributed by Ruth Schmuff.
This isn’t new for this market, but I so wanted to stitch these Holiday Owls from Ruth Schmuff’s artist Brooke Connor.
This canvas from Rebecca Wood made me smile, Rudolph on a weather vane.
This is an artist from Maggie & Co whom I do believe is new to her, Fred Calleri. I love flying and this rendition of Amelia Earhart is terrific.
Also from the same artist is this lovely skiing portrait.
Then I saw this fun cat canvas. There is a lot going on here with fish and mice in the background!
I love birds, especially cardinals, this Charley Harper Cardinal from The Meredith Collection is lovely. I do know Park Avenue Needlepoint in Dayton, OH will be offering this as a class in the future. There may be other shops that offer this as a class so check with your LNS.

Charley Harper, Cardinal Cradle, The Meredith Collection.
Of course this Cardinal Charley Harper also caught my attention. Believe it or not I have a coaster of this design.😁
Zecca had amazing canvases, what to pick, well the next two a bird and an owl enamored me.
Then we have this fabulous Valentine Skull from Sandra Gilmore who is distributed from Fleur de Paris. I love this saying!
This collection of ornaments stitched up by Associated Talents is fun.

Ornaments by Associated Talents.
You all know by now that I love Halloween so these canvases from Sew Much Fun are awesome!
I believe this next canvas is JP Needlepoint, love this Trick or Treat.
Of course these are only a few of the canvases I saw, there are many more out there.
Thanks to all the shops and stitch guide writers for posting such wonderful photos for us all to see!
Now on the kitty front, Beardie has been coming in and wandering around the house for longer periods! A good sign, maybe she would like to stay. Who doesn’t love a little catnip!😸
Noe is always monitoring the backyard.
Well that’s it for now folks. Have a wonderful day and do what you love! Stitch a little when you can.
