Snoopy’s Thanksgiving
Snoopy could not have expressed the sentiment better. Now for the pie, if you have not yet had The Cheesecake Factory’s Pecan Pumpkin Cheesecake, then head out for a piece now! It will be gone in a few short days and I must say it is absolutely DELICIOUS!
Mmmm, mmm, scrumptious!
It is not all about food, but since dessert comes first, this is at the top of my list
Today’s stitch is a Scotch/Upright Cross combo. I saw a similar stitch in a June McKnight book and altered it a little after I stitched it. This would be great as a border or place the packages around a tree. If you were to space the parcels further apart it would look neat as a Christmas background.

Stitched Packages
The sample was stitched quickly and the sequins are not placed identically, I just wanted to show you a stitched sample. If you left more space between the Scotch/Upright cross a different sequin such as a small snowflake would fit.
Next is the project I am working on. Yes, I started this back in April, what can I say I am a procrastinator. I now have a time line so that I can send it to the framer!
A Star is Born
Close Up
The close up shows the beading. I am stringing the beads with Very Fine Soft Flex and then coming up with beading thread every third bead to secure the wire. The soft flex wire gives the full line of beading more stability and it holds the shape nicely, as straight as my tacking stitches are The star is stitched in a Smyrna Cross Tent pattern, the tent stitches will be stitched in a very light thread to just barely cover. I don’t want to lose the dimpled effect. I am auditioning threads for the wording, coming up will be Sparkles, Wonder Ribbon, or Kreinik Facets…..you won’t have to wait to long to see which fiber wins. Originally I had thought to bead the lettering but since I have beads in the background I want the lettering to pop up a little higher. I love how the background leads right to the star.
This Thanksgiving I have to be thankful that I am now healthy enough to stitch for longer periods of time. This year has been a trial and I can now say that my hand has improved tremendously! Yay!
I also have to be thankful for the newest addition to my family, Tango! I brought him into the house last week when it was so very cold and he would not leave the stoop by the sliding glass doors. He has now been neutered and had all his shots. This guy knows how to win you, he loves to be cuddled which won over my partner, so he is in the house permanently. Of course he is still in the basement healing from his surgery and the girls will have to come visit him in the crate. Noe has been hissing at him through the door and Stimpy just is not quite sure yet. So the saga will continue to unfurl, stay tuned!
That’s it for today folks, I am attaching a picture for your kids/grandchildren to color, download and give it to them tomorrow when they start to get tired of the festivities.
