Aloha All,

I hope everyone had a fabulous week.  Clevelanders’ had an amazing week!  Our baseball team the Cleveland Indians are headed to the World Series!!  Woo hoo!!  This is a huge feat since they have not made it to the World Series since 1997, so everyone is truly excited.  For those of you who don’t know the first game is being hosted here in Cleveland next Tuesday October 25th, so let’s all root for “the tribe”!  I know there are a few Dodgers and Cubs fans out there, but here is to Cleveland!  Can you tell I am excited? On to needlepoint!

It is nearly Halloween which is my favorite holiday, so I worked hard to come up with a “Scaredy” type of cat darning pattern.  I charted two patterns for you since I stitched the cat four times before I liked the look.  The first Eek Scaredy Cat reminds me of a cat with all its hair standing up.  The second chart reminded me of a Jack O’lantern.  Have fun with the stitches.

This would make a great background on one of your Halloween canvases.  You could also add a black cat to a witch canvas, you know all good witches have a black cat as a familiar!

Next up is a Jack O’Lantern.

The cat head jack o’lanterns were also stitched with 2 strands of Burmilana.  For the next row below I was going to place the stitch in between the two heads, to give an offset appearance.  Use this chart as a background stitch for any cat themed canvas.

Also, I was thinking about adding eyes to the cats by using green beads, green metallic thread, or even glow in the dark thread!

Just a little silly Halloween fun stitch for this week.

The Kitty children have been good this week, but Beardie has scared off the birds.  Usually I put a scoop of food out per day, this week one scoop lasted 3 days!  I guess if I were a bird I would be a little more afraid of becoming lunch….

Where are the birds!

That’s it for today, have a great week, only 9 days until Halloween! Stitch what you love and put a few stitches in for me!
