Aloha All,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. The daffodils in Cleveland are lifting their heads back up after the last surprise snow storm! But you don’t want to hear about the weather 🙂 Today I have a few “Circles & Ovals” diagramed for your stitching pleasure & a tour of our local store, Wool & Willow . Last week Julia Snyder taught her embellishment class at Wool & Willow , so I stopped in to take a few photographs!

Before I take you on the shop tour here is today’s stitch. The small Balloon stitch is a very versatile stitch and can be adapted to fit into all sorts of small spaces. I was looking for a stitch that reminded me of snowballs for the Pepperberry Design “HO3”. The Balloon stitch is a great circular design and by adding a single satin stitch it resembles an oval shape. Since there are circles in the design I wanted a circular stitch. Initially I thought beads would be fun but after getting some input I nixed the idea because it would overpower the letters. You can see my ideas from the different stitches diagramed. All the stitches have the same basic balloon stitch, just with minor variations.

Stitched sample.

The stitched sample is a mixture of “Circles & Diamonds”. If you want to add beads a number 11/0 fits nicely. The sample was stitched using one strand of Silk Lamé.

Next is the actual stitch I will be using for the background.

This sample was stitched using one strand of Kreinik Fine (#8) Braid. Next week I will show you how the stitch looks on the actual canvas using Belle Soie & Accentuate.

Now for a peek into Julia’s class and a tour of Wool & Willow Needlepoint. Grab a cuppa and enjoy the show 🙂

I hope you enjoyed the tour!

On the cat front I have a new little friend visiting me every evening, Blackie 🙂 She polishes off a bowl of kibble at night and has started posing for pictures 🙂

Blackie my new little friend!

She looks like a Halloween cat since this is an evening photograph with the flash on.

Beardie was none too pleased at last weeks snowfall, but she remained cozy in her house!

Well folks that’s it for today! I am now off to rip out stitches and start over 🙂

Aloha All, I love stitching in all forms, currently I work mostly on painted canvas and embellish it will different stitches and beads.

I also love animals and currently have 4 cats, 3 that live in the house, and my 1 girl who refuses to live inside but pops inside to eat :)

When I am not stitching I may be knitting or exploring with my camera in hand.

If you ever want a stitch diagramed send me a comment and I will help if I can.

Have a great day and stitch when you can! Read More…

Aloha All, This is a special weekend for me since it’s my Birthday! I get to be Queen for a day, well maybe two, because we are taking a quick trip to Columbus. You all know my love of owls, so I had to be the Queen Owl, instead of Bee👑🦉😻 Stitch: Of course I […]
