The sun is shining today, woo hoo! In the winter I get tired of grey skies so when the sun is out I don’t care how cold it is🌞.
Last month was my birthday, one of those milestone dates “50”! Since I entered a new decade I wanted a celebratory stitch. What better stitch than Confetti Ribbons Variation.😸🍾
Charting Confetti Ribbons Variation was a process. First I charted one vertical column then printed the stitch. I took the printed chart and turned the stitch upside down, taped the two columns of stitches together, tweaked the spacing, then I was ready to continue charting. The confetti ribbons variation turned out fabulously, I love the look of streamers🎉. This a fun festive stitch, a perfect birthday stitch!🎂
The stitches in red show the stitch pattern. Stitch it in one color or two, make it blend with the background or make it stand out, the choice is yours.
Jane Wood of Chilly Hollow Needlepoint Adventure kindly stitched the sample for me. I love the green and pink row, it really looks like a confetti ribbon! Jane used one strand of #8 Perle Cotton for the green and pink stitches and one strand of #12 Perle Cotton for the blue stitches😊. This will make a lovely background stitch.
Another idea for Confetti Ribbons is to stitch one column as a border. Tess and Jane both thought bugle beads would be an interesting addition so I charted how I would add bugle beads to make this stitch a border.
Have fun with the stitch, turn it around and stitch it horizontally for something different.
Now what would a birthday be without some additional artwork!😺 Ruth Schmuff chose Cat & Mouse Game for the February mystery class at Bedecked & Beadazzled, of course I couldn’t resist. I am of course the Crazy Cat lady in my neighborhood!😹
The mystery just finished and you can see the stitched canvas here, https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2018/02/atomic-power/
The snap tray is adorable and matches the canvas perfectly.
Now what else could make a birthday special, why of course, magnets!😁😀
Well folks I had a spectacular birthday!
The kitty crew have been demanding more of my attention and when I do try to stitch I think they will rebel and attack the thread. There is a new cat in the back yard, Blackie. She has become quite the regular, unfortunately I don’t think Beardie is too happy!
Noe and Tango are not fans of Blackie either, they were staring her down last week.
Stimpy is the only one unfazed by Blackie!
Beardie is still coming into the house every day, maybe she will want to stay!
Stimpy looks a lot like her mum!
Well folks that’s it for today, have a great weekend and take a little time to stitch!
