Aloha All,

I wanted to get a quick post in before everyone becomes glued to Facebook for all the updates from the Winter TNNA Market in San Diego. For those of you who do not participate in Facebook check out “ Chilly Hollow Needlepoint Adventure ‘s” TNNA tab for what is new.

This week I started stitching a Colors of Praise Owl Eye Mask while sitting in the doctors office for hours! It is a fun canvas and I am going to have it made into a sleep mask when finished 🙂 I have been wearing eye masks for years now. It started when I worked night shift as a nurse and had to sleep during the day, I literally became a night owl! Couldn’t resist that pun 🙂 So if you have this canvas you can stitch along with me since I am going to post the stitches and threads that I am using.

The teal sky is stitched in basketweave using one strand of Planet Earth Fiber Silk, Malta #116. I then moved to the fur around the eyes since I have ordered the glow in the dark thread for the stars and moon. I stitched the fur around the eyes with one strand of Fuzzy Stuff FZ21, FZ20, & FZ15 (two browns and white), using Slanted Encroaching Gobelin & Encroaching Gobelin stitches.

This next chart shows how I stitched in a circular fashion using the above stitches.

Next week I will give you another stitch!

As many of you may have seen, designers have started releasing sneak peeks of their new canvases. Here are a couple of the new canvases that I really like 🙂

I don’t have the actual canvas names since these were just released on Facebook by the designers. It looks like this is going to be a fun market, so sit tight and enjoy the show!

The girls and Tango want to say hello, they did not tear down the Christmas Tree but they had fun finding their toys around it!
